Frequently Asked Questions
What is different about Serenity Now Counseling?
I offer a positive, Christian counseling experience. I want to hear my client’s stories and help them navigate the ups and downs of life. Far too many counselors do not take into account their client’s faith, I bring faith to the forefront while also working through any mental strife you may be feeling.
Do you offer in person counseling?
At this time I only offer online telehealth.
What is telehealth?
Telehealth is doing a counseling session through your computer or smartphone with a HIPAA compliant site. I typically utilize the website Doxy.me for sessions. If you have ever used “Zoom” or “Skype”, it is very similar, but HIPAA compliant.
So do you see clients all over the country?
No, I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the State of Illinois. At this time I can only see clients who reside in Illinois.
Do you take insurance?
Yes!! Please check out the Insurances Accepted tab to see what insurances I accept.
My insurance isn’t listed, do you offer cash payment?
Yes!! I do offer cash payment. Prices will depend on session length.
What are the benefits of telehealth?
Scheduling! You do not need to take time off to drive to an office and then wait in a waiting room until your session time. You can do sessions from the comfort of your home, on break at work, outside, or just about anywhere! Telehealth offers flexibility and comfort to sessions.
Is everyone a good fit for telehealth?
The majority of people do well with telehealth, however there are some instances where in-person sessions are more beneficial such as those experiencing crisis. A free phone consultation will determine whether telehealth is a good option for you.
I am unsure about all this, do you offer a phone consultation?
Yes!! I offer a 15 minute FREE consultation call where we briefly get to know each other and I can answer any questions you may have about myself or the teletherapy experience. There is no obligation to schedule sessions if you do a consultation call. To schedule a consultation call, please use the “Book Now” button at the top of the page.
